About

DAWN BEDORE PROCTOR

Author Artist Advocate

A recovering alcoholic with more than thirty-nine years of sobriety, Dawn Bedore Proctor has devoted both her professional and recreational life to the service of the non-profit community. First, as a progressive gardener and landscape designer and continuing on as Director of Development, she has become recognized nationally as one of the nation’s most successful fundraisers, organizers and advocates for causes as varied as access to public gardens and parks for those with financial or physical disabilities to a more personal journey on behalf of people suffering from drug and alcohol addiction, the need for freely accessible treatment and most importantly, criminal justice reform that recognizes and treats addicts as victims of an all-too-often fatal disease rather than potential prisoners.

Through her writings and her art, she continues to strive to raise awareness of the need to strengthen the fabric and hone the vision of the non-profit community to assist the public in perpetuating and improving the quality of life equally for all its members.
